Karate Boogaloo and College Of Knowledge Records invite you, the Boogers, to join with them in celebrating the release of KB’s sophomore long-playing disc of original material ‘Hold Your Horses’.

Sitting at the heart of Melbourne’s burgeoning instrumental soul movement, Henry Jenkins, Hudson Whitlock, Callum Riley, and Darvid Thor have been playing music together since their playground days. Their singular bond shines brightly on Hold Your Horses, a document of KB’s distinct interpretation of instrumental funk. A bona-fide journey from start to finish, each tune melds seamlessly into the next, deftly creating a world built on moments of cinematic tension, whimsical melodies and eerie discordance and underpinned by undeniable super heavy funk.

Joining them will be the following musical professionals:

Ella Thompson, a most excellent singer of soul music, performing material from her triumphant recent disc ‘Domino’ as well as forthcoming music, backed by her full ensemble.

Miss Goldie, the most unimpeachable collector of rare soul discs in this hemisphere and host of treasured PBS program Boss Action.

Surprise Chef DJs, promising young individuals possessing bountiful records of premium quality and a sense of unbridled enthusiasm.

After many years away from their early home of the Evelyn Hotel, where a young Karate Boogaloo played so many special mid-week shows to the Fitzroy faithful, the Kar-Boos return for a once-off small capacity show. Don't sleep.
