Presented by Hunger Digital, Lara Villani returns for a headline show at The Evelyn on Thursday, August 1, celebrating the release of her new single ‘Make it go away’. Joining her for this unmissable night are local artists Kaytlyn Johnson and Kiri.

‘Make it go away’ is the centrepiece of Lara’s debut EP ‘Whiplash’, a record that promises to be a late-night confession booth for anyone who’s ever loved too hard and felt a little lost, only to find themselves in the fallout. Lara brings her signature blend of R&B, pop, and unfiltered emotion to Fitzroy’s iconic Evelyn Hotel, hot on the heels of previous releases ‘Losing my mind’ and ‘I love it’.

“Losing my mind feels like Lara finally found the smoke-filled room where her voice belongs. It’s sleek. It’s sexy. It’s unhinged in the best way.” — Buzz Magazine (USA)

“With seductive electronics and a catchy groove, the track captures the buzz of unexpected encounters with charm.” — Rolling Stone (AU/NZ)

“This is so seductive and sexy. Gives me very 2000s R&B vibes—I love it ;)” — Ebony Weston (Triple J)

Supporting on the night:

Kiri: Singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Kiri crafts introspective, ambient pop layered with electronic textures. With nods from Triple J, Triple R, and an FBI Independent Artist of the Week title, Kiri’s set is equal parts dreamy and daring.

Kaytlyn Johnson: Tasmanian First Nations powerhouse, Kaytlyn has shared stages with GRAMMY-winner Lucky Oceans and opened for pop icon Thelma Plum. With her own debut EP on the horizon, this is the perfect chance to catch her raw, magnetic sound before everyone else does.
