The Hoodangers: One More Before the Last One
The Evelyn Hotel (Fitzroy, VIC)
Thursday, 26 March 2026 8:00 pm
After 30 odd years of sweat, swing, and questionable decisions made across the worlds pubs, clubs and festivals, The Hoodangers are calling it a day.
Naturally, they booked their “final” show in a room too small to hold the number of people who’ve spilled beer to their music since the mid-90s. It sold out in a flash. Chaos ensued. Feelings were hurt. So here we are.
This is the penultimate Hoodangers gig. (We checked. This one actually is.)
Born out of Melbourne’s backrooms and front bars, The Hoodangers have spent three decades dragging traditional jazz through pubs, onto festival stages, and occasionally into disrepute, playing it loud, fast, and with just enough disrespect to keep it alive.
This isn’t the end. But it’s very, very close to it. So come pack out The Evelyn Hotel one more time for their last hoon ever in Fitzroy - dance too close to the band, yell over the solos, and pretend it’s 1998 again.
If you missed tickets to the final show, this is your shot.
If you’re going to the final show… consider this your warm-up.
