On Friday the 20th of November we have Werkstatt for an afternoon- exploring the thoughtful, expressive wines of Werkstatt Wine, founded by artist-turned-winemaker Bridget Mac in 2022.
Drawing inspiration from the cool-climate wine traditions of Germany, Austria and Alsace, Bridget brings a distinctly Australian sensibility to these classic European varieties. Her wines are a study in precision, texture and restraint, with a focus on letting the character of each vineyard shine through.
From mineral-driven Riesling to vibrant Pinot Noir, Werkstatt challenges expectations of what Australian wine can be. Bridget’s approach is rooted in a deep appreciation for site, climate and variety, allowing the fruit to speak for itself rather than relying on a heavy hand in the winery. Sourced from distinctive regions such as Mount Gambier, her wines capture the freshness, complexity and quiet elegance that make cool-climate varieties so compelling.
