undergroundLOVERS are excited to announce a one-off show on Friday November 30 at the Evelyn Hotel in our old stomping ground Brunswick Street Fitzroy.
And as part of our celebrations we are rereleasing our 1996 album 'Rushall Station', which has been remastered and pressed for the first time on 140g black vinyl with all new limited-edition cover artwork.
Rushall Station holds a special place in our hearts. It’s a leafy green space in inner Melbourne bordered by Victorian gangster palaces and worker cottages, where a weird bend in the tracks makes the train look like it’s going to topple over but it never does. The train just keeps on pulling into the station.
Rushall Station is a record of its time and yet timeless ... a suite of pop songs that crackle with intensity and wit, strident guitars, beguiling bass, ethereal and not so ethereal voices and a Melbourne attitude that is hard to pin but easy to love. Originally released on our own label called mainstream, the record featured new recruit, Derek Yuen on drums and was nominated for an ARIA award.
We are so excited to be playing some choice tracks from Rushall Station as well as songs from our recent releases at the Evelyn on November 30.
