Free Wine Tasting with Dane Johns from Momento Mori

We’re honoured to have Dane Johns, founder and winemaker of Momento Mori and one of Australia’s leading names in natural wine, joining us on Friday the 4th of September.
Founded by Dane and Hannah, Momento Mori began in Gippsland and has recently embarked on a new chapter in Tasmania, while continuing to work with organically and sustainably farmed vineyards across Victoria. Dane’s winemaking philosophy is simple: respect the living, let the fruit speak, and make wines that are full of character, freshness and life.
Dane’s wines have a character that’s unmistakably his. Working with hand-harvested fruit, small wild ferments, no oak, no mechanical pumps, no fining or filtration, and only a tiny addition of sulphur at bottling when required, he creates wines that are fresh, vibrant and seriously individual.
For this tasting, Dane will pour a selection of Momento Mori wines and talk us through the vineyards, varieties and ideas behind them — including some bottles that don’t stick around for long.
